A note before so called Independence Day...

Apologies for using word like "so called Independence Day". I should not use these words. But I am helpless. So who is making me helpless, this country or Countrymen? Obviously the countrymen and so called servants of this country. Pardon me for using “so called” word these many times, but I have already told that I am helpless. I live in a country where everyone is forced to be helpless.

I live in a country where so called Patriots are either busy in stopping the screening of the movie or busy in burning effigies. Some patriots are busy in beating people who are from other states; and some are busy in talking everyday about the burning issues of India in the “We the People” kind of program. Some are busy in organizing games for us in which they have played GAME with many to earn quick bucks. Some are busy in investing crores of rupees in protection of Afzals and Kasabs so that they can free them up when our friend nation ask us to do so. Some are busy in earning thousands of crores through religious discourse.

So what others are doing? Others are busy in queuing up for railway tickets/electricity bills/phone bills and asking god to get their job done as quickly as possible. Others are busy in travelling by train/bus and praying to god so that they can reach destination safely. Others are busy in visiting markets and praying god so that no bomb blast happens in same market. Others are busy in standing in Road Jams for hours and asking God to do something so that he/she can reach their respective home quickly. Others are busy in visiting vegetablwallahs every day and hoping that the vegetables prices are lesser than the previous day.

And there are bunches of people who are doing their bit for the country. A bunch of people are protesting for the noble cause. A bunch of people are standing like wall in -20o Celsius to defend our country from so called friend nation. A bunch of people are educating people at remote areas/villages so that their students can do something for the country. A bunch of people are working at grass root level for the society. A bunch of people are using their respective mediums to express their national views through Movies, Twitter, Facebook, Print media, News Channels.

So can we say that we have got independence with all these combinations? No I don’t think so. Every Indian has got a personal definition of independence. Some of us think that piling up the money of common man in Swiss bank is independence. Some of us think that showing their power on common man is real freedom. Some of us think that earning quick bucks regardless how it is earned is independence. Some of us think that freedom is in killing (honor) their own son/daughters when they select bride/ groom for them in some other caste. Some of us think that not filing FIR for a common man’s loot is real independence because it will increase crime rate in their Police station. Some of us think that showing news first on their News channel is right regardless of the fact that the news is correct or not. There are so many examples that neither the article will be completed in this decade nor others will have decades of time to read it.

The question is what I really want? I want independence from these lunatic, unaccountable and corrupt politicians who are spreading anarchy from top to bottom. I want independence from incompetent PM and invisible President. I want every corrupt politician/officer in jail. I want that no politician ever become Chief Minister of the state and called a pro-equality who had put slogan like “Tilak Tarazu aur Talwar, inko maro jute chaar”. I want that everyone should have independence in choosing his/her life partner of any caste/religion/gotra/sex. I want that every filmmaker/ celebrity/ sportsperson should have right to express his views on national burning issues without fearing about his family, home and release of their work. I want that every RTI (Right to Information) activist also have the Right to Live. I want independence from daily road jams/queues /bomb blasts/train and bus accidents. I want independence from rising inflation. I want that No Indian is required to pay bribe for admission in college, for medical treatment, for other government works. I want that nation becomes richer than its leaders. Anyone who is trying to do something for the betterment of the nation should not become the culprit of the politics.

Am I asking too much? Is our society irreparable? Is India destined to live in misery? Will India’s system always favor anarchism? Will India’s people always be in dilemma in electing correct candidate/party?

Your answer may be yes, many will say that “Nothing will Change”; but I am an optimist and a believer of Gita and Gita says “Nothing is Permanent”. Gita also says “Continue doing work and do not wish for the fruits”

Like every common man sleeps in the night and hope for a better tomorrow, I will also do the same and hope that there will be a ray of hope soon.
